The Mixed Heritage Therapeutic Art Workshop is creative space for individuals who are of mixed heritage to explore their identity.
This is a creative and therapeutic experiential space for individuals who are of mixed heritage to come and make around their experiences of being between cultures.
We are using the definition of mixed heritage as the fact of having two or more different racial, ethnic, religious, or cultural backgrounds. (Cambridge Dictionary, 2026)
The session will be run by two HCPC registered Art Psychotherapists who are of mixed heritage.
The workshop will goes as follows:
11:30-12:00 introductions to the group and what art therapy is/how art making can be used to navigate complex thoughts and feelings.
12:00-12:45 art making, art materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring any materials you wish to use in the workshop
12:45-13:30 reflections on the art making and artwork, a check out before the session finishes and some time for Q&As.
There will be a survey sent to participants before and after the workshop.
Some water and tea will be provided at the workshop and there is public green space that can be accessed to sit and drink/eat in.
