A garden oasis bringing people together to be healthy and happy
Calthorpe is a friendly space where everyone is welcome to meet, get active, grow, and feel part of a community. For over 40 years, we’ve been helping people look after their physical and mental well-being while making the neighbourhood greener and more sustainable.
Open seven days a week, we offer sports, gardening, creative and cultural activities - giving people a chance to connect, learn new skills, and support each other. At Calthorpe, we look after both our community and the environment.
We’re just a 10 minute walk from Kings Cross – and we look forward to welcoming you soon!
Please note we’re closed on Bank Holidays: Monday 4 May & Monday 25 May. We’re also an election polling station for the local elections on Thursday 7 May, so we’re closed to the public.
Calthorpe Community Garden
What’s on
Thank you!
We managed to raise £5969 (including match funding from Garfield Weston Foundation via the Big Give) for the renovation of our wild garden. We plan to create ponds and habitats, boosting biodiversity, conserving water, and widening community access.
Thank you to everyone that donated and shared the campaign. It makes such a difference to our garden!
Growth and Change: a documentary by Ruth Cebrian
Since 1984, Calthorpe has been supporting its diverse community in a variety of ways, including providing sports and education to its users. With a positive impact on the environment, we have ingrained sustainable practices into all that we do. Check out our 30th anniversary video here to find out what has been happening over the past four decades!
We take the health and safety of everyone coming to the garden very seriously. For more details, you will find all our policies, including our safeguarding policies here.
